Ducks GM looking for help

While Ducks GM Brian Burke maintains his team has to get itself out of its recent slump, that doesn't mean he isn't trying to bring in some help, reports the Los Angeles Times.
"We're working the phones frantically and we're kicking tires," Burke told the paper. "So far, no one has made an offer that works for us."
As the Feb. 27 trade deadline nears, the Times hints the Ducks are pursuing a veteran scorer, with the likes of St. Louis forwards Keith Tkachuk and Bill Guerin, and Columbus winger Fredrik Modin, being targeted.
Burke told the Times that club ownership has given him the green-light to go add salary.
"I can easily see us doing nothing or making hockey deals [for the long term] rather than rentals," Burke said.
The Ducks are also interested in Peter Forsberg of the Philadelphia Flyers, who is apparently willing to waive his no-trade clause if the Ducks want to work out a deal. However, such a move is believed to be a longshot due to the Flyers' asking price, which could involve top-rated prospect Bobby Ryan and a first-round draft pick.
The Ducks are expected to make a move prior to the deadline, and while they'd love to get their hands on Forsberg, unless the Flyers drop their ridiculous asking price he won't be heading to Anaheim.
